If you were punished on any part of the server (In-game, Forums, Discord, etc), and you believe that you were the wrong person to be punished, or that the punishment was unfair or false, you may send an appeal. To do this, follow the next steps:
1. Check that you are eligible to appeal
Most punishments can be appealed immediately, however some severe punishments have a mandatory wait time. If you send your appeal before you are allowed to, it will automatically be denied. To check if your punishment is severe enough that you have to wait, see the rules page. All severity 5 punishments have a wait time, as well as some serious repeat offence punishments. Additionally, if you have already sent multiple appeals on your punishment in a short amount of time, do not keep sending them, or you could be muted on the forums.
2. Make a forums account
To send an appeal, you will have to make a forums account. If you are trying to appeal but your current forums account is muted, you may see if the staff member will take the appeal in their discord direct messages.
If you are not already logged in, you will need to make a forums account by clicking the Forums tab on the website, and then click “Register” at the top. You will need to enter a username, email, and password. Then, the link to appeal (named “Punishment Appeals”) should be present after scrolling down. If you don’t see it, you can find it here (you must be logged in to view it).
3. Check the Appeal Guide and send your Appeal
The appeal guide is the pinned thread that you should see after opening the Appeals forum. Make sure to read this, and make sure that you include all of the needed elements from the checklist in your appeal (otherwise it could automatically get denied). When you have finished reading the appeal guidelines, in the main appeals forum, click the “New Topic” button at the top right. The title of your appeal can be the username of the account that was punished. It is helpful to copy and paste the checklist from the appeal guide, to make sure you have everything you need.
Make sure to be completely calm and mature in your appeal! If it is a mistake on the staff member’s part, it will be dealt with. Being rude will not help your case. The staff member who punished you will respond within 3 days (if they take longer, send a staff report), and the appeal will either be accepted (punishment removed/reduced) or denied (nothing removed).
Note that, before you make a staff report over a false punishment, send at least 1 appeal. Many times a false punishment is an accident, such as the wrong username, for example, and can easily be fixed with an appeal. Other times, the staff member applied a rule that you did not know about. If you still believe that it is necessary to make a staff report, please only do it if your first appeal is denied.
